CASE: Stay Safe and Healthy Month 2025 – Building a Safe, Healthy, and Sustainable Workplace
At Olvi Group’s Latvian subsidiary, Cēsu alus, people are at the heart of the sustainability strategy.
“We are committed to creating a safe, healthy, and engaging work environment where employees can thrive both professionally and personally. Every May, we put this commitment into practice through the annual “Stay Safe and Healthy” Month, a special series of activities dedicated to raising awareness about occupational safety and employee wellbeing”, says Agita Kārkliņa, Cēsu alus’ Communications Manager.
This initiative is closely connected to the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, marked globally on April 28.

“Stay Safe and Healthy” Month is organised every year because it reflects the company’s long-term commitment to sustainability and responsibility, demonstrating genuine care for employee safety and health. Regular activities also ensure that our people stay informed about the latest safety knowledge and wellbeing practices, helping them maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
“At the same time, these initiatives actively engage employees by involving them in practical and enjoyable experiences, which strengthens motivation, fosters engagement, and contributes to higher workplace satisfaction”, continues Agita Kārkliņa.
Why it matters for our employees
- Promoting health: Activities are designed to improve both physical and mental wellbeing. This year, employees participated in defibrillator trainings, morning exercise sessions, blood donation days, and healthy cooking workshops.
- Workplace safety: Training and awareness activities help reduce workplace accidents. For example, safe driving lectures and first aid training provided essential skills and knowledge.
- Strengthening community: Initiatives such as flower planting, group hikes, and shared breakfasts foster team spirit and stronger workplace connections.
